Has anyone been watching this on Max? The season is done (but S2 is slated for January 2026, not years away!) I think it’s outstanding. I sort of expected Noah Wyle to be playing John Carter lite, but that - to me - is not the case. Dr. Michael “Robby” Robanovich seems like both a competent, but harried, leader - and a guy skirting the edge of mental collapse.
Add in a stellar supporting cast in Fiona Dourif, Isa Briones, Patrick Ball, Katherine LaNasa, Taylor Dearden, Gerran Howell, Tracy Ifeachor, Supriya Ganesh, and the (to me) fabulous Shawn Hatosy, and it’s 15 quick, harrowing hours well spent! (For the uninitiated, the entire season takes place during a 15-hour shift, each episode detailing an hour from that day…)
The plots are standard hospital fare, but based on reactions from real medical professionals, the show is lauded for dealing with them realistically. The guest star actors have been terrific, too. Worth a watch if you like medical dramas!
