Below are standard rules that apply to all games, unless specifically changed and announced before the start of play by the game runner (GR).

Posting Rules
  1. You must post at least once during Day or any active ability you have will be void for both the following Twilight and Night Phase.
  2. You should talk about the game in the game thread only, unless otherwise specified in your DM.
  3. During Day and Twilight only non-eliminated players should post in the game thread. Spectators and eliminated players can join in during Night for non-gameplay social chat.
  4. No gameplay-related talk during Night.
  5. Eliminated players should not post, or react to posts, at all during Day or Twilight.
  6. Keep the use of images, gifs and emojis reasonable during Day and Twilight.
Hinting & Clue-Related
  1. Players should only hint at their character identity or ability. Players must not outright, or as good as, claim or point out their hint(s) about their character identity. A player may not post any part of their DM in the thread.
  2. Once a game has started players should not change their profile answers since they may be used for clues during a game.
Elimination
  1. Once eliminated in a vote during Day, a player is immediately eliminated and may not use any Twilight ability they may have.
  2. Good sportsmanship; a player who purposely self-eliminates will be suspended from playing again for the following two games.
Gameplay
  1. Mafia can be a heated game from time to time, however, personal attacks will never be tolerated. Don’t make it personal, attack the play not the player.
  2. Resurrections - players may return with a new alignment; H/V/N with new, original, or enhanced abilities. Villains cannot be resurrected as heroes where they’re aware of the identity of every other member of the villain team. To be resurrected as a hero one of the following must apply to a villain:
    a. They’re unaware of the identity of all but one other villain (at the time of player elimination the villain team are partially/fully split and need to find each other) who they may not reveal or initiate an elimination vote for.
    b. They’re working for the villain team but are not part of it; the villain team know their identity but not vice versa.
