I’ve been a camper. I’m a bit on the old side, so pre-internet, we relied on Woodall’s Campground Directory. Camping was what worked best for our budget back then. We dragged our kids through the southern states and up to Michigan’s UP. It was loads of fun and the directory helped us to find campgrounds with our level of comfort! One day in my 40s, I woke up on the ground and decided I would never sleep on the ground (in a tent) again. But the years went by and grandkids came, so we decided to gather camping gear again and take our grandkids. We had a lot of fun and Grandma and Grandpa upgraded to cots! The grands became so busy and we moved and downsized, so we haven’t done it lately. It was never glamping for us, but our kids do take their kids now and then. Many of our trips were to the Warren Dunes in Michigan. That beach is lovely and entertains kids for hours! I still love to sit by a campfire and chat.
