Power Book II: Ghost

Power Book II: Ghost, or simply Ghost is an American crime drama television series created by Courtney A. Kemp that premiered on September 6, 2020 on Starz. The series is both a direct sequel and spin-off to Power.

Part 1 of the fourth and final season will air on June 7, 2024.

The trailer just dropped. I am excited!

Braydon actually shooting guns now?!?!? :joy:

This premiere was insane!

I’m not fully caught up but hot damn, I do think the season will go out with a bang. I was glad to see Tasha and know that she and Yaz are ok.

So it seems Michael Ealy is a grief stricken unstable Robin Hood??? He’s stealing from drug dealers and paying his people, and keeping the streets safe from random violence? Yet he’s talking to his wife as if she’s alive!

If Diana really wants to have this baby she needs to leave NYC and her family. Maybe go to Puerto Rico (since her Dad is from there) and if he has family not in the life connect with them. Because Tariq and Monet will never leave the life behind.

I think Ghost and Tasha were better parents than Monet/Lorenzo were because 1. Ghost wasn’t in prison, 2. They did shield their kids and give them a normal life when they were little, it was Tariq’s dumb ass trying to be a criminal and poor Raina was so naive, she confronted that crooked cop (Ray Ray?) and was murdered. RIP Raina. Think of your twin sister Tariq!!

Noma isn’t as smart as she thinks she is if marrying Cane is her best option!

Bryden is going to spiral now, i don’t see him lasting the season.

Lol! Yeah, Nina is not smart.

I don’t like what they’re doing with Brayden. He’s always been the voice of reason, AKA the rational one between him and Tariq. They keep trying to push Tariq as this super strategist. But he’s shown again and again that while he’s smart and a quick thinker, he doesn’t actually consider the realities /think things through. This is why the partnership between him and Brayden worked so well. If Brayden didn’t lose his mind/spiral when he lost his family, why would he do it now over this girl. It’s just not connecting for me.

Also, Diana…I don’t have an eyeroll big enough.

I think his character is suffering from the “end of the series” syndrome. OG Power did that so well, wrapping up storylines, this iteration not so much!

Ooh child! The end of today’s episode! The only thing good thing to happen in an episode of collectively dumb ass decisions.

Although, I wish this had happened earlier in the series, like at the end of season 2. It would have been interesting to see Monet’s kids have to put their petty shit aside and figure out how to keep the business going AND level up without their parents around.

Yes I think it would’ve been cool if Monet had died end of Season 3, or beginning of this season (kind of like how Angela did on OG Power) and the fall out from that.

I was kind of let down by Tariq and where he ended up. The ending monologue was written well, but I hated that Effie didn’t go to Stanford for her co-term, and Diana decided to embrace the life rather than leave like she wanted.

Something I did enjoy was that “Power never ends” and they left it where characters and storylines could pop back in if need be, although the seasons coming up are in the past (Book 3, and Origins) Force is only getting one more season (damn shame the writing was so bad on that) but we can always come back up NYC.

I wish we had gotten more of Larenz Tate this season!

Same. Effie’s too smart for all this shit but they found a way to keep her stuck. And Diana… I was so mad at her when she killed the daughter. You, who has been trying to escape the life the entire show revenge murders someone who wasn’t in the life and had no interest in the life? Yeah, fuck you Diana.
