Ghosts (US)

Samantha and Jay throw caution to the wind when they convert their recently inherited country estate into a bed-and-breakfast. Call it mislaid plans. Not only is the place falling apart, but it’s also inhabited by spirits of previous residents – whom only Samantha can see and hear. Ghosts spins the funny, heartfelt story about a newfound dream that reveals connection and self-discovery aren’t just for the living.

You know, Rose McIver doesn’t get enough credit as a comedic actress. I loved her in iZombie(such a great acting exercise), and her role on this show is similar. I need to get caught up, this is a good comfort show for me.

It’s a good comfort show.

It’s rare I like a modern sitcom (I tend to prefer ones from before 2000) but this one is golden.

This is one of my favorite shows. Great cast, great characters.

When I first started watching, I never in a million years imagined that Trevor would be my favourite ghost, lol.

So I watched last night’s episode and I cracked up at Thor sleeping with Pete’s wife and everyone’s horror upon finding out, lol. It was also really nice to see Trevor so excited to see his little bro, and realizing that while he would love to have him around, he needed to push him out of the nest and get him to run his father’s company.

I also laughed so hard at Isaac flying through the exterior wall and falling two stories, heh,

I loved all of that too. I’m honestly mostly wondering how they’re going to get rid of Carol because I find her a drag. I like how this show has been creative in bringing in new ghosts for a short storyline, but I don’t want a permanent new ghost.

I am hoping Carol will somehow leave once Flower comes back.

New episode this Thursday!

S03.E07: The Polterguest

“The Polterguest” – Alberta hits it off with a poltergeist (Lamorne Morris) who is attached to a newly arrived Woodstone guest. Also, Isaac and Nigel have separate bachelor parties.

Airdate: 04/11/2024

I think she’s just filling the gap while Flower is out, so they made her annoying and somewhat unlikeable so that the audience will be glad when her character gets sucked off. It will be interesting to see what issue is keeping here and how that is resolved. She may have a lot more to come to terms with than just her cheating on Pete. I’m hoping he’ll get closure too once she’s gone.

No Carol in last night’s episode and I am quite happy about that. A little of her goes a long way.

I did love Isaac’s bachelor party scene. The stripper dancing while reciting dinosaur facts to a clearly excited and enraptured Isaac was hilarious. And the clicking, heh.

Also, next week’s preview has me excited.

I can’t wait to hear the explanation from Flower as to how she ended up in the well! Thor will be so happy!

S03.E08: Holes Are Bad

“Holes Are Bad” – When Sam and Jay leave the ghosts home alone for the weekend in an attempt to have a romantic getaway, shocking revelations are made about two of Woodstone’s beloved spirits.

Airdate: 04/18/2024

First off, it’s nice having Flower back. I was never a huge fan but I can honestly say I missed her and am glad to have her back.

Secondly, poor Hetty. Although I am glad we finally got an answer as to how she died.

Thirdly, a Puritan ghost just walking around lost in the dirt is sad. I wonder if she’ll ever show up?

Lastly, I loved Flower thanking Hetty for saving her and being so sweet in general.

It might be fun for her to suddenly show up and see how she reacts to Isaac, Sass & Thor leaving her behind. It was an accident, but they could have some fun with that conversation between the 4 of them.

Poor Sass. He can’t even get a sentence out without Isaac interrupting him! “I am literally the Storyteller!”

I know! Poor, Sass!

I find it kind of funny how Isaac never washed his hands, which is how he died of dysentery, but he covers his nose when he sneezes and loses a Puritan in the process, heh.

I’m surprised there’s no discussion yet of this week’s episode. It’s so typical of Pete to have a power he never knew about because he’s such a rule abider that he never thought to even try to cross the ghost boundary. It’s also fitting that as a former travel agent, his power is to travel outside the property. I loved him finally getting on a plan to visit his family. Go Pete, finally live your life in death!

I did laugh at him getting stuck in that store at night with all those creepy ghosts only to be chased by a robot. Thank goodness he found his way back to Woodstone Manor.

I really do continue to love this show.

I’m just disappointed that the season is cut short due to the writer’s strike. I’m not ready for it to go on hiatus! Remember when the old TV shows had about 20+ episodes per season? There are so many stories to explore with this show.

It will be interesting to see if there are any limitations on Pete’s ability, such as how far he can go from the property, or for a limited amount of time.

I love Sass and his obsession with food. I’m anxious to find out how he died.

I’m kind of happy Isaac didn’t marry Nigel, it was clear to me he wasn’t as into Nigel as Nigel was into him.

I do love the idea of the Puritan ghost showing up though and pulling Isaac through the wall and into the dirt. I’m curious to see how that will play out next season.

The stripper being back and Isaac’s dream were fun.

And I like that Pete got himself some loving and that he now has a reason to not stay away too long since he will disappear into oblivion.
