A fateful decision in 1960s China echoes across space and time to a group of scientists in the present, forcing them to face humanity’s greatest threat. Inspired by Liu Cixin’s renowned novel. Streaming on Netflix.
I hope Netflix doesn’t pull the plug on this, I really enjoyed it. I totally don’t get how the wallfacers are supposed to work. I mean, I understand the San-Ti won’t know what their plans are if they never tell anyone buuuuut neither will anyone else. No coordination can happen. Hopefully it will make sense in a second season, if we get it.
My interpretation was it’d work like a painter who’s creating a work of art but purposely working in such a way that few, if any, will be able to figure out what the subject matter is for as long as possible.
For example, using many canvases, each of which appear unconnected, until all canvases are completed and connected together in a specific way, like a puzzle. While there can be collaboration on a canvas/part, the big picture remains known only to the artist.
The old ‘greater than the sum of its parts’ kinda scenario.
