This hit my radar described as a “horror version of the Disney Channel Original Movie-Smart House”.
Half way through the limited series I would say it’s accurate. I haven seen much tv or film from Germany, I am enjoying the style.
I finally finished this series and it hit me on several levels.
It was satisfactorily creepy and I had guessed a rough outline of what happened to Cassandra to turn into a rouge AI.
On a family level it got me, as Horst(the husband) was willing to abandon his daughter to die, after locking her up behind a wall because of her deformity. Yet Peter (the teen son) didn’t want to leave her behind but Cassandra was going nuts so I understand why he got in the car. My father abandoned my sister because of her disability and wanted me to do the same, I can see how that would cause Cassandra to snap because my Mom never got over it. She’s just glad he’s dead and we got our share of his estate. But she will go to her grave with that pain, although my sister doesn’t know.
This was a German show so maybe it’s a cultural difference but I would’ve liked it better if Samira had set the gas to leak and saved the kids, rather than Cassandra working through her issues and sacrificing herself. I like to think of the end shot as Cassandra’s soul joining her daughter and being able to cross over, Peter already went and Horst, well….
I would recommend watching it was very good. The little girl that played Juno was so precious and her glasses were darling.
