Spotify sends me concert recommendations and the latest e-mail had OK Go, Cheap Trick, and The Struts. I want to see all of them but if I have to pick it’ll be OK Go since I’ve seen Cheap Trick 5 times and The Struts 3. But the venue is one where you have to stand the whole time and I don’t think I can at this time. It’s in July so might be able to by then but I bet it will sell out quick.

Last year I went to a few awesome concerts including: The Cure, Foofighters, and Metallica. In January I was supposed to see Aerosmith but the concert has been postponed until January 2025.

Who/what did you go see last? it’s been a while - Bryan Adams
What was your most memorable concert? My parents and I were in Greece in 1994. We were set to take a taxi at night to go to Athens (3 hour drive from were we were). We were told a singer was coming to town and we got tickets instead of going to Athens that night. The taxi driver went anyways and the vehicle was in a major accident with a truck. The driver and passengers were killed.
Who/what are you planning to see next? Cyndi Lauper’s farewell tour.
Who/what do you regret not seeing? Jann Arden in an intimate setting.

Well the Aerosmith farewell concert got cancelled and I am still bitter.

So far, no one interesting is coming to Montreal.

Last year I went to quite a few concerts, this year, however, it’s been crickets.

I saw Usher at the United Center in Chicago on Oct 28. There was nothing like being a child in Chicago in the 90s and the magic of the Chicago Bulls!!

Usher put on an amazing show, but at this point in my life I prefer smaller concerts with a more intimate setting. I was in the nose bleed section and for that I can watch on tv!

I have tickets to see Our Lady Peace tomorrow. Canadian band. Part of me is excited, part of me wishes I would be in bed instead, lol. Being an introvert is hard, ya’ll.

I know that band well. They - along with a lot of '90s post-grunge acts - were pretty big in the US back then with “Superman’s Dead” and “Somewhere Out There”.

Fellow introvert here, but I hope you have a good time, @jewel21 !

How was the concert?

Was it a small intimate thing or a mega venue? I find mega venues are usually not worth it for me between the parking, security, all the steps and watching it on the screen. I enjoy concerts more if it’s a smaller venue.

It was really good, thanks for asking!!

It was a smaller venue which was nice but still fairly large. Collective Soul and a Canadian band called Wintersleep both opened for OLP.

Collective Soul mentioned that the first band they ever toured with and opened for was Aerosmith and I went nuts because I adore Aerosmith and I had even purchased tickets to their farewell tour before it was cancelled due to Steven Tyler’s injury. They went on the say that Steven Tyler taught them how to respect their fans, bandmates and all the staff they employ. They mentioned how Aerosmith could no longer tour and sang part of “Livin’ On The Edge” as a tribute and I almost died, lol.

OLP sang quite a few songs and Raine, the lead singer, told stories about the band since it was their 30 year anniversary.

At one point, I thought they were done, but Raine walked toward the back of the venue where the sound equipment/people were filming the concert and sang two acoustic songs on a piano that had been placed back there that I hadn’t noticed before that moment.

For the second song, he started on the piano and then walked back to the front of the stage to finish the second half of the song with the band..

All in all, it was a great night.
