The Marvel Cinematic Universe talk.
I finally saw The Marvels- I love Kamala’s infectious energy, Goose(!!!) and the fact that MCU got X-Men back for the post credits scene👏🏽.
I love Kamala’s energy, too! I know that movie was panned, but I still enjoyed it. Of course, I enjoyed it in my living room so it didn’t feel like an extra expense.
I absolutely loved this movie!
Things come to streaming so quickly these days, if it’s not a big social occasion I will just wait and watch it on Disney+.
I’m pretty sure I saw this one in theater. But it was me and maybe 3 other people. Then again, if I go to the movies, I go to the first show on Saturday or Sunday, or the 3 or 4 pm Thursday show on the premiere weekend (many people don’t realize films actually premiere on Thursdays, not Friday), so I’m frequently the only person there. But if it’s predominantly Black (or other minoritized groups) and/or women leads or directors, I’ll pay to see it in the theater to support. The rest, I’ll wait for it to show up on free streaming.
so far the kids and I are excited about Deadpool 3.
San Diego Comic Con is back on with gusto, and the news from Hall H is that RDJ is BACK in the MCU for Avengers DoomsDay (2026).
I guess everyone has bills!
I would love to know Scarlett how much Disney threw at RDJ to get him to come back.
I dunno. I love RDJ and as someone who saw what he went through in his younger years (damn him walking out in the orange jumpsuit handcuffed is forever seared in my mind) I applaud how he’s turned his life around. But I think the MCU is beating a dead horse. It’s the writing and directing and trying to shoehorn alot of stuff in one movie. Granted there are some actors that just can’t act (I’m looking at your Brie) but overall maybe they should just take a break.
I’ve taken to catching up on the MCU on bank holidays. Today I’m watching Secret Invasion.
So far I have to say the de-aging technology is VERY good because Samuel L Jackson looks just like himself in the 90s!
