Just over a month away from the premiere!
As someone who loved Season 1 far more than the book it was based on but disliked Season 2 while loving the book it was based on, I am excited but cautiously optimistic.
I prefered Season 2, I watched it twice. I think Season 3 will be good.
I haven’t read the books, and have largely stayed away from media about season 3. For me, this show is good to just show up, not pay too much attention and enjoy the ride. I’m looking forward to season 3 but don’t really have any expectations going in.
It’s going to change your life. But I don’t know how will we bear the wait now that they halved the release of the season.
I have loved both seasons and Queen Charlotte as well. I cannot wait for S3.
I haven’t loved Colin much in the previous seasons, but have a feeling that will all change.
the new francesca promo is so good. I wanted to post it but it says “you are not allowed to post links?” too bad
It was a youtube short, the official 30-45 second intro they do for each character. But it’s okay.
The first 5 minutes of S3 are available to watch.
Today is the day! I was rewatching Season 2 yesterday and remembering my dislike for Kate and Anthony. lol. But I’m still excited about Season 3! It will be the weekend before I can watch it though.
I finished it. It’s only 4 episodes.
Should i post with spoiler tags??
Our spoiler policy is here.
Since it’s just a single thread (no individual episode topics), it can contain spoilers for things that have already aired. You aren’t required to use spoiler tags to discuss the episodes - however if there is a major plot twist or something, and you wish to use them, that is also fine.
Just finished the episodes that have dropped. WOW! So much better than season 2 so far.
Some thoughts in no particular order:
Not here for a Cressida redemption arc.
I’m so glad Kate and Anthony went to extend their honeymoon; the less they are around, the better.
With the Modrick’s, I feel the writers have done a bit of “the audience loves this character. How can we keep them in the story where there is no logical place?” for seasons 2 and 3. This often bugs me, but since I like them a lot, I’ll allow it.
I think the Mondrichs will have some meaningful part in part 2. One of the cast members hinted at it in an interview.
Ok so I finished all 4 episodes yesterday.
First, Eloise and Cressida?!?!? In what timeline? I get Eloise felt her reputation go because of Whistledown last season but how and why did she feel she should be close buds with Cressida?
I see that Shonda decided to shoehorn every distinct group from people with physical disabilities, to ASL to ASD.
While I like Penelope and Colin I don’t like the fact that Pen has to tell Colin about her Lady Whistledown activities. Will Colin tell her he’s into threesomes?
Oh forgot to add that i bet the Featherton sisters each have girls.
I finally had a chance to watch the first four episodes of S3.
My favorite relationship is actually the friendship of Eloise and Pen vs Pen and Colin and hope they can fully reconcile their friendship.
Colin had quite the glow-up. Even with his stupid comments about how he could never marry Pen and his mooning over Marina, he didn’t annoy me as much as Anthony did in S1 and parts of S2, although I later came to love Anthony.
But I am loving his shirtless scenes as well as his pirate-esque attire.
The carriage scene was super-hot and made me forget about the gazebo scene with Kathony.
I wanted to root for Lord Debling but he was so boring and even if all his nature sabbaticals would have allowed Pen to continue as LW, that would be awfully lonely after awhile.
Not sure I’m here for the redemption of Cressida storyline. Her damaging Pen’s dress tells me she hasn’t changed one bit. But what a perfect weapon for Eloise to strike back at Pen. I can’t wait to see her reaction to finding out Pen/LW is engaged to her brother.
I wasn’t really feeling the first four episodes. I wonder if I will feel differently after the second part of the season is released.
I liked Lord Debling, more than Colin.
In the previous seasons, it was very clear that S1 was “Daphne’s” and S2 was “Anthony’s”. I don’t know if S3 is “Colin’s”, “Francesca’s”, or even “Penelope’s” - although she isn’t a Bridgerton, she feels like the central character of the season. I think it is suffering for that unclear focus, and the split season, as I may feel differently about this after seeing part 2.
