Classic Hollywood Golden Oldies - Film Noire

Does anyone like old movies from the 30s and 40, especially film noire? My husband jokes to his friends that he’s not allowed to watch a movie unless it’s black and white.
.
TCM Saturday night @ midnight shows a classic noire. Some of the best are Born to Kill, Double Indemnity., The Harder They Fall.

I love Joan Crawford when she tries to play a great lady and really camps it up without realizing it…,

And the ALLTIME GREATEST BLACK AND WHITE FILM IS ALL ABOUT EVE. I {ove it so much I took the great George Sanders name}.

Hoping some of you Bunnies will share. your favorites.

I agree with you regarding All About Eve!

My favorite old movies are Gilda, It Happened One Night, Casablanca, and my most favorite is Gone with the Wind.

Love “Gone With The Wind” (historical context aside!). I also have “Laura” with Gene Tierney and Dana Andrews on Blu-Ray, a classic noir!

I am a TCM nut for sure! I work at a library and just recently started showing classic movies each week. I’m doing my own Noir Alley in June: The Postman Always Rings Twice, Kiss Me Deadly, Laura and Double Indemnity!

It probably doesn’t qualify as a golden oldie, but it is definitely film noire: Body Heat. If you haven’t seen it, you should! It sizzles.

Shadow of a Doubt with Thersea Wright and Joseph Cotton stands the test of time. Also, even tho I’s not a noir exactly, I love the Birds. I’s starting to find Rod Taylo rather attractive

Funny–I’ve never seen Casablanca–not practically a Bogie fan, but from the beginning music of GWTW I start to cry. And cry for 4 hours!
