Discuss all the happenings in Salem here!
As this is a fledgling operation, right now, this is single thread.
HOWEVER, if enough people find us and activity gets going, we can potentially expand into different threads.
I say this here because I found quite the surprising spoiler: Gloria Loring is returning as Liz Chandler for a bit, according to Deidre Hall. Guessing this is also for Dougâs funeral.
Here is some more casting news:
Another return is on the horizon for Dougâs funeral. Looks like Kristian Alfonso/Hope Brady is returning for a bit.
Iâm going to be a mess. Days was my first soap and Doug and Julie my first supercouple.
Adios, Ron Carlivati.
Iâm actually caught up for the moment. Bobby/Everett is fun to watch but Iâm not a Stephanie fan, so Iâm a little bummed that Bobby is the alter. And I like Xanderâs mom.
A 40th Anniversary event was held for the soap, Santa Barbara recently (as it turned 40 on July 30th!).
Louise Sorel, who played Augusta Lockridge on that prior to Vivian Alamain, attended. As did many others, including Vincent Irizarry, Miranda Wilson, and A Martinez (who were all also on Days!).
For being off the air for so long, the turnout looked great!
Cruz & Eden were one of the all-time great soap couples.
Such a huge shock. Rest in peace, Drake Hogestyn (formerly Roman Brady turned John Black). He apparently died of pancreatic cancer. Tomorrow would have been his 71st birthday.
I know many loved John/Marlena, but I loved John/Isabella. May he rest in peace.
Eric Martsolf (Brady) and Christopher Sean (Paul) share a joint interview with Access Hollywood, talking about their love for their TV dad, Drake Hogestyn. This got me a bit teary eyed.
Stephen Nichols and Deidre Hall share their feelings regarding Drake Hogestynâs passing. The former looks absolutely wrecked in this video.
The hits just keep coming for Days: First, Bill Hayes and then Drake Hogestyn passed away. Now comes news that the original Roman Brady, Wayne Northrop (who was married to Lynn Herring [Lucy Coe, GH]) has passed away at 77 due to complications from Alzheimerâs disease. Such a horrible, insidious disease it is.
How ironic that the two actors most associated with the success of Roman Brady are now gone. With respect to the current Roman, Josh Taylor, he will forever be Chris Kositchek to me.
