Anyone else been staying up far too late (on the East Coast) watching the NBA Playoffs?
Last night, the doubleheader of the Knicks/76ers game and the Lakers/Nuggets game was truly remarkable. Both games ending so dramatically with late game shots? Both the 76ers and Lakers managing to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory and blowing those leads.
The word of the night was “marginal.” Slap in the face? Marginal contact. Hit in the arm? Marginal contact. Someone on X said it seemed like the refs had just learned the word and wanted to use it as much as possible and I laughed.
