The Last Street in Manhattan is a great episode - strong case and I liked meeting Eames’ father briefly - he was a cantankerous old guy.
I like all 8 season 10 episodes to be honest, they were all pretty good plots and it was nice to see the Bobby Goren of old again with his mojo back instead of the worn down with baggage Goren that we got starting in season 6.
Season 1 starts tonight on Charge, I look forward to seeing some of those episodes, CI had such a strong first season.
The listings for CI updated on Zap2It. While the show remains from noon 'til 5:00 p.m. this week and next, on May 13th, Zap2It has the show beginning at 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. ET, listing the second half of “Wee Small Hours” as the first episode on, Season 5.
Simple, right?
Wrong.
Because on the BBC America site itself, the schedule for Monday, May 13th, as it looks right now does indeed have a different time, but there, the show begins at 4:00 p.m. ET with Season 4’s “No Exit” and goes until 9:00 p.m. ET, ending with the Season 5 premiere, “Grow”, when the Mothership takes over! (But if one wanted to continue CI, the show would begin on Charge! at 9:00 p.m. ET, right after it ends on BBC America!)
Which schedule is correct? Guess we’ll find out!
Postscript: Don’t know if I had the wrong time zone, but now the times do match up on Zap2It and the BBC America site.
The show, as of May 13th, will air from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Found this picture on another site of Kathryn Erbe from a short film she did. She still looks great!
Tonight’s Charge! marathon has jumped to Seasons 5 and 6 because of Mother’s Day:
“Diamond Dogs” with bad mother, Dee Dee, who gets her son, Johnny, to kill to feed her habit.
Then three Season 6 episodes, “The War At Home”, “Brother’s Keeper”, and “Endgame” feature Frances Goren.
Nice to know people still miss this series.
Some TwitX account posted wanting a CI reboot with Rollins and Carisi from SVU. Then VDO responded, saying why not with him and Kathryn Erbe? (Naturally, I agree.)
So too, it seemed, did those responding. Seems many are still wishing for a revival. (Doubt it happens, obviously, but nice to know people do miss the show!)
It would be great if CI was brought back with Goren/Eames, but that’s the only way I want CI back is if Goren/Eames comeback - without them it wouldn’t be CI. It’s unlikely but you never know, I never thought the Mothership would return but here it is, and I never thought Stabler would get his own spinoff show, and he did, so you never know. It would be great to see Goren/Eames again.
Looks like CI is now off BBC America. Not on the schedule at all for the next two weeks.
ETA: The show is also not listed on the site. But neither is the Mothership now. But that is still on the schedule for now (albeit greatly reduced, from the looks of it.)
That’s a shame, seems like not many places are showing CI now. Looks like the Mothership will still be shown on Mondays on BBC America.
I do enjoy the nightly episodes on Charge, always gives me something to watch if nothing else is on. Season 4 is finishing up tonight on Charge, that’s probably my favorite season of CI
Found this joint Dick Wolf and Vincent D’Onofrio interview via someone on Facebook. It took place around Season 10, the show’s last.
“Silencer” just ended. I still love watching Bobby/VDO use sign language. And I still am mystified why Peter Lyons seems so put out at the end…
An eternal mystery, just like Logan’s look at that Barek mention…
I caught the scene where Barek was mentioned and Logan gave the funny look when that episode aired the other day, that remains really strange. There was no bad blood between Logan and Barek that we saw, so it was very odd.
Season 6 was just a drop-off in quality overall IMO, there are some good episodes but I just really dislike the melodramatic direction the show took and how they changed Goren. Plus Ross was such a dick, and yet he got a lot more screen time than Deakins. And I hate how they dropped the legal side and didn’t even explain where Carver was.
Season 6 finishes on Charge tonight with its finale Renewal, the strange episode with Logan and his neighbor, then season 7 starts.
“Renewal” is chaotic. So many story threads going on, it makes it too hard to keep track.
Renewal is just really weird with the split focus between Logan’s neighbor and the case of the police recruit getting killed by his fugitive girlfriend. Just another example of how season 6 of CI became soapy and melodramatic. I liked the mention of Lennie Briscoe by Logan though.
Okay, so this is more about the old ABC series, Boy Meets World, but some of the cast recently had a mini reunion which included Rider Strong, who played Ethan, teacher turned potential terrorist, in the CI episode, “The Pilgrim”.
If you click the link, he is kneeling in the black shirt. The baby face is long gone, but hey, time gets us all!
Betrayed was on tonight on Charge, this is the episode that really sealed my disdain for Ross - he was horrible all the way through in this one, even more so than normal - he had blinders on all the way through regarding Kathy, and he was downright nasty with Goren/Eames - he really owed them an apology but he was his usual jackass self all the way through. He should’ve recused himself from the case.
It’s a good episode and an interesting case but Ross is hard to stomach - he’s probably the worst main character in all of L&O - he never had a single good moment IMO - his condescending nasty attitude was present all the time and he really dragged the show down.
Maybe Kathy should have chosen him since she seemed to do away with any guy she married!
I thought we talked about everything there was to talk about regarding CI, but I saw an interesting factoid elsewhere.
Turns out CI had shelved an episode that was to air in Season 8. No reason is known. (If I had to hazard a guess myself, maybe because of the 2008/2009 Writers’ Strike?)
It did apparently have a title but no plot description. It was called “Jump The Gun”. VDO/KE were the team listed for this one. Whether that’s accurate, we’ll never know.
Considering the title, my guess would be maybe a real life (mass?) shooting occurred that was too close to the episode for comfort.
I have no idea if that is accurate or not - I’ve never heard anything about a shelved episode.
